From 1 February 2019, all HSRs must undertake the relevant approved training course within three months of their election unless a training course is not reasonably available within this period.section 21(1)(a)(b) Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011
The initial training is a 5 day course that must me maintained with a refresher course each 3 years. This ties in the the reelection requiremetns of the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011
