Manual Handling – (On-Line)

Most jobs that are performed from heavy manual jobs to administration jobs involve some type of manual handling be it lifting, pushing carrying or pulling something.

An employer has the responsibility to keep their workers free from the risks associated with manual handling,  As an employee you too have a duty to ensure that you follow relevant legislation and the organisations policies and procedures.

It is vital that there is a safety culture that makes certain that the organisation along with the employees meet the requirements of the relevant WHS Act and Regulations.

This course involves the skills and knowledge required to shift materials safely using manual handling methods.

It includes assessing the risks associated with relocating the load, planning the relocation process and carrying out the relocation in accordance with the plan. Work must be carried out in compliance with the relevant work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS) regulations concerning the manual handling and movement of loads.
