CPC10126 Certificate I in Construction
CPC10126 Certificate I in Construction provides an introduction to the construction industry and develops foundation competencies relevant to construction work. It is intended for people preparing to enter the industry or undertake further construction training.
CPC10126 Certificate I in Construction is a nationally recognised entry-level qualification comprising 11 units – eight core units and three elective units. Electives are selected in accordance with the qualification’s packaging rules and should reflect the participant’s training pathway and intended construction work. Participants must demonstrate competency in every required unit to receive the full qualification. Completion provides foundational construction skills but does not, by itself, provide a trade qualification, occupational licence or authorisation to undertake regulated construction work.
Training introduces participants to construction workplace expectations, safety, basic tools, materials, measurements, communication and practical work activities appropriate to an entry-level program.
The final unit selection must satisfy the qualification packaging rules. Calibre will confirm the units offered and help align suitable electives with the participant’s job role, existing competencies, workplace activities and training needs.
Delivery and assessment arrangements are confirmed with each participant or employer before enrolment. The final program will reflect the training product requirements, participant experience, workplace access, available equipment and the practical evidence required for assessment.
Calibre may use a combination of trainer-led learning, workplace activities, practical demonstration, questioning, written tasks and evidence gathered in an appropriate work environment. The delivery method, expected duration and assessment requirements will be set out in the applicable course information and enrolment documentation.
Before enrolment, Calibre will confirm whether the program is suitable for the participant. This may include reviewing existing competencies, language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills, physical or operational requirements, prerequisite units, access to a suitable workplace, plant or equipment, and any identification, PPE, medical or rail-network requirements.
Completion of a qualification does not replace any separate construction induction, high-risk work licence, trade licence or site-specific requirement unless the relevant requirement is expressly included and successfully completed.
Calibre works with employers, HR teams, project managers and operational leaders to coordinate training around job roles, worksites, shift arrangements and workforce capability requirements. Group delivery and workplace-based options can be discussed where they are suitable for the training and assessment requirements.
