BSB30719 Certificate III in Work Health and Safety
BSB30719 Certificate III in Work Health and Safety applies to people who perform work health and safety duties in addition to their main responsibilities. They may contribute to WHS communication, consultation, hazard identification, risk control and incident-response processes under supervision or established workplace procedures.
BSB30719 Certificate III in Work Health and Safety is a nationally recognised qualification comprising 11 units – six core units and five elective units. Electives are selected in accordance with the qualification’s packaging rules and should reflect the participant’s workplace responsibilities and industry requirements. Participants must demonstrate competency in every required unit to receive the full qualification. Completion does not replace any workplace-specific induction, licence or mandatory safety training required for a particular role or worksite.
The qualification supports people who contribute to day-to-day WHS activities rather than those with overall responsibility for designing and managing an organisation’s WHS system.
The final unit selection must satisfy the qualification packaging rules. Calibre will confirm the units offered and help align suitable electives with the participant’s job role, existing competencies, workplace activities and training needs.
Delivery and assessment arrangements are confirmed with each participant or employer before enrolment. The final program will reflect the training product requirements, participant experience, workplace access, available equipment and the practical evidence required for assessment.
Calibre may use a combination of trainer-led learning, workplace activities, practical demonstration, questioning, written tasks and evidence gathered in an appropriate work environment. The delivery method, expected duration and assessment requirements will be set out in the applicable course information and enrolment documentation.
Before enrolment, Calibre will confirm whether the program is suitable for the participant. This may include reviewing existing competencies, language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills, physical or operational requirements, prerequisite units, access to a suitable workplace, plant or equipment, and any identification, PPE, medical or rail-network requirements.
This qualification does not, by itself, create a statutory appointment or licence. Role-specific legislative, industry or employer requirements may apply.
